The company has always been involved in the reproduction of hazelnuts to meet internal needs.
Since the second decade of the 2000s, it has acquired phytosanitary certification in accordance with the law for the production and sale of propagation material and is currently registered in the Official Register of Professional Operators (Registration number RUOP IT-12-0767) and holds the CE certification.
The typical reproduction of hazelnuts is through rooted suckers, as the plant has a high suckering tendency at the base which, to a good extent (also depending on the cultivar), develops small roots; The self-rooted suckers are removed during the winter and planted in our nursery plots to further develop the root system during the spring/summer season. During the following season, the suckers, now well-rooted, will be uprooted and sorted to ensure high growth quality, rooting, and high percentages of take, thus preparing the material for the new planting.
To date, the company holds certification for the cultivars
"Tonda Gentile Romana" and "Tonda di Giffoni" and is also involved in the design, soil preparation (such as leveling and extraordinary processing), and planting of the hazelnut grove, operations necessary for an excellent start to the new hazelnut plantation.
